About the business and the brief
Göteborg Startup Community was created to fill a gap in the local ecosystem: there was no central digital place where everyone involved in startups in Gothenburg could gather, share and discover. Events were scattered across different channels, jobs were posted on LinkedIn, and the ecosystem lacked a natural starting point. The brief was to build that starting point - a platform that aggregates events, jobs, news and ecosystem resources in one place. Hive Creatives owned strategy, web design, development and ongoing content management.
Challenge
The main challenge was aggregation and maintenance: the platform is only useful if it is continuously updated with events, jobs and news - but the team behind it is small and lean. The site therefore needed to be easy to update without technical skills while still looking professional and feeling alive. At the same time it needed to attract several different audiences (founders looking for talent, talent looking for jobs, investors looking for deal flow, event organisers looking for attendees) into one single experience without becoming messy. Add requirements for fast mobile experience (most visits from LinkedIn/Instagram), clean visual identity and a structure that scales as the ecosystem grows.
Solution
We built a clean, aggregated platform where events, jobs, news and ecosystem resources are collected in one scannable interface. The information architecture is simple - each content type has its own section with filtering and sorting, and the homepage surfaces the latest across all categories. The CMS is built so the team can update events, publish job ads and share news without touching code. The design is modern, mobile-first and deliberately minimal - the content, not the chrome, is the experience. The result is a hub that gives the Gothenburg startup ecosystem a shared address: one URL that everyone in the community can point to.The main challenge was aggregation and maintenance: the platform is only useful if it is continuously updated with events, jobs and news - but the team behind it is small and lean.
