About the business and the brief
Platsbyggda Ku00f6k creates completely custom kitchens - designed, built and installed by skilled carpenters. It is a high-involvement purchase where the customer often spends months in the research phase before contacting anyone. The brief was to build a digital platform that captures those customers early in the research phase, communicates the quality of the craftsmanship and converts them into qualified leads. Hive Creatives owned strategy, SEO, information architecture, web design, development and content production.
Challenge
Custom kitchens are a high-ticket, infrequent purchase with a long decision journey. Customers start with inspiration (Pinterest, Instagram, home magazines), move to research (materials, styles, price levels) and only then contact specific craftsmen. The site needs to win at every step: attract through SEO during the inspiration phase, build trust during the research phase and convert during the decision phase. Add requirements for local SEO (the customer is local - Gothenburg region), portfolio presentation that does justice to the craftsmanship, testimonials and references, mobile-first UX and a design that feels premium without feeling exclusive - and the challenge becomes clear.
Solution
We built a content-driven website designed to capture customers throughout the entire decision journey. The information architecture includes inspiration galleries, material guides, style overviews, project portfolios and customer stories - all SEO-optimised for the keywords customers search for at different phases. The portfolio section is built with large, high-quality images that showcase the craftsmanship in detail. Conversion flows are built into every content surface: from an inspiring kitchen gallery to a clear contact or quote request. Technically the site is fast, mobile-first and built on a CMS where new projects and guides can be added easily.
