Startup Grind

Startup Grind is a global grassroots community with chapters in 600+ cities worldwide. The Gothenburg chapter is the local hub for founders, startup employees, investors and ecosystem builders. The brief was to build a digital presence that mirrors the global brand while remaining distinctly local - and that actively drives event attendance, membership and community engagement. Hive Creatives has built and continuously managed the chapter's website, event pages and digital communication since launch.

Operating a local chapter of a global brand means balancing two things: consistency with the international Startup Grind brand and enough local personality to attract the Gothenburg ecosystem. The site needs to drive ticket sales for events, showcase speakers and partners, recruit volunteers and build a sense of community - all while competing with other events and meetups for attention. Add requirements for recurring events (different formats each month), sponsor visibility, content updates managed by volunteers and a mobile-first experience for attendees - and the challenge becomes clear.

We built a dedicated website for Startup Grind Gothenburg that follows the global brand guidelines but with a clear local identity. The site is built around event-driven content: each event gets its own page with speaker info, tickets, time and place - making it easy to share and easy to find. The information architecture prioritises the most important actions: buy tickets, become a member, see upcoming events. On the community side we integrated partner visibility, volunteer recruitment and a content flow for blog posts and recaps.
